Authorizing the Police Department to cover expenses including food, beverage, and room rental for 2018 events that recognize outstanding service by employees and members of the public who take extraordinary efforts to help others and to engage employees and the public.
Body
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police, Todd Axtell, recognizes and acknowledges police employees for their outstanding achievements and exemplary dedication to public services; and
WHEREAS, recognition ceremonies and other events including but not limited to Medal of Valor, Chief’s Award, Employee of the Year, the promotion of employees, academy graduations are held throughout the year at various places and time; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the ceremonies and events is that the city council and mayor deem it important to recognize the commitment and dedication to public service of the city’s police employees and promote the department’s commitment to trusted service with respect; and
BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2018 city budget , the proper city officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $7,000 to cover expenses including food, beverages and room rental incurred from the above various ceremonies, Chief’s meetings and other events during 2018.
