Appeal of Todd Harper to a Vehicle Abatement Order at 1384 REANEY AVENUE.

Purpose of Appeal: My wife (Chris Cruz Harper) has a car gifted to her by her mother, Teodora Cruz. Teodora died in May of 2022 and did not have the title. My wife got a duplicate title - however, there was a lien on the car that my wife did not know about. My wife has been on the phone for two days with Ford to get the lien taken care of (on hold). It is likely that we will not get the lien release by 12/21/22. Our goal is to donate the car as soon as possible - my wife is working with peddle.com to remove/donate the car. We were not aware that this was a problem, as the car is in the alley, not a city street. We would like an extension of a month to resolve this issue and to be rid of the car.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the appeal of Todd Harper to a Vehicle Abatement Order at 1384 REANEY AVENUE, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant;
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant to March 3, 2023 to remove the vehicle or address the violations and make the vehicle code compliant; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
