Approving a one-year extension of the lease for the Department of Human Rights & Equal Economic Opportunity RiverPrint space at 375 Jackson Street.

WHEREAS, on January 1, 2012 the City of Saint Paul ("City") entered into a seven-year lease agreement (the "Lease") with 375 Jackson Courtly, LLC and 375 Jackson Willow, LLC ("Landlord"), owner of the property at 375 Jackson Street, Saint Paul, for a premises comprising 5,800 square feet of rentable office and printshop space ("Leased Premises") to house the operations of the City's RiverPrint function of the Department of Human Rights & Equal Economic Opportunity ("HREEO/RiverPrint"); and
WHEREAS, the Lease expires on December 31, 2018, and HREEO/RiverPrint has requested to extend the term of the Lease for one additional year, ending on December 31, 2019, and at the current lease rate of $9.00 per square foot; and
WHEREAS, the City and Landlord have agreed to extend the term of the Lease through December 31, 2018; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council hereby approve the extension of the Lease as described above, and authorize the proper city officials to execute "Amendment No. 1 to Lease," attached hereto as Exhibit A.
