Authorizing the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity to enter into a Master Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota through DEED for funding for the EMS Academy.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity wishes to enter into the attached Master Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota through the Department of Employment and Economic Development, which will provide funding for the EMS Academy; and
WHEREAS, the EMS Academy provides job training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged youth in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the Master Grant Agreement requires that the City indemnify and hold harmless the State of Minnesota and to sign Lobbying and Debarment forms certifying certain prerequisites for eligibility for funding; and
WHEREAS, the provision of job training and employment opportunities for EMS Academy participants has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Department of HREEO is authorized to enter into the attached Master Grant Agreement, which contains an indemnification clause, and to sign the Lobbying and Debarment forms on behalf of the City.
