Amending the 2025 Public Works budget by shifting funds within Winter Street Maintenance to more accurately reflect the account numbers in which part of the New Snow Operations will expend their funds.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul on average declares about 4 Snow Emergencies a year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is working to modernizing the City’s approach to winter weather and in 2025 is conducting pilots of a weekly alternating one-sided parking cycle; and
WHEREAS, this process is created to engage the Saint Paul community and our partners about snow operations to seek input and feedback; and
WHEREAS, we were made aware that non-sworn police officer snow taggers could not legally operate new electronic parking ticketing devices; and
WHEREAS, this required a movement of funds from Capital Outlay and the rebalancing of the funds in the other 2 account lines; therefore via
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, and on the request of the Director of the Public Works Department to amend the 2025 spending budget for the reallocation of funds within the Public Works General Fund Street Maintenance accounting unit. The Director of the Office of Financial Services is authorized to amend said budget in the manner as specified in the attached financial analysis.
