Amending Chapter 97 of the Legislative Code pertaining to Well Drillers.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:

SECTION 1

Section 97 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 2

Section 97.01 of the Legislative Code is hereby amended as follows:

Sec. 97.01. Reserved.  Permit required

No person, firm or corporation shall drill or dig a well on private property in the city of Saint Paul without first having obtained a permit from the state of Minnesota Department of Health.

SECTION 3

Section 97.04 of the Legislative Code is hereby amended as follows:

Sec. 97.04. Meter required.

The owner of property served by a well shall install and maintain, at theirhis expense, a water meter in accordance with Chapter 77 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code for the purpose of establishing the proper sewer rental charge to be made. Such meter shall be in conformance with the Saint Paul Water Utility's Well Meter Standards.

SECTION 4

This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days following its passage, approval and publication.
