Accepting the gift of the costs of travel and tuition expenses from the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative for Deputy Mayor Jaime Tincher, Nicolle Newton, Melanie McMahon, Krystle Cruz Williams, and John McCarthy to attend the Leading Economic Development in Cities program to be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts January 13- 17, 2025.

Body

WHEREAS, the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative has invited representatives from the City of Saint Paul to attend the 2025 Leading Economic Development in Cities, a training program focused on data driven approaches to economic development on January 13 - 17, 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, at the Leading Economic Development in Cities program, Saint Paul representatives and other city leaders from across the world will have the opportunity to learn and gain new insights on targeted strategies for economic growth, data analysis, change management, and community engagement; and

 

WHEREAS, the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative and Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative has offered to cover up to $54,000 in travel and tuition for City staff to attend; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul find that attendance at the conference will be beneficial to the City in providing Saint Paul representatives with training and resources on new approaches to municipal economic development; now therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of travel and tuition expenses to the Leading Economic Development in Cities program, and thanks the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative for its generous gift.
