Accepting an Active Transportation grant from the Metropolitan Council for the West Side Safe Routes to School Project and authorizing execution of the grant agreement.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works applied for a grant through the Metropolitan Council Regional Solicitation for the West Side Safe Routes to School Project as authorized by Council Resolution 23-1763; and
WHEREAS, the project was awarded $777,400 in Active Transportation funding which is included in the Department of Public Works Capital Budget; and
WHEREAS, the commitment of local funds for the twenty percent local match plus engineering was approved at the time of the application; and
WHEREAS, the agreement contains an indemnification provision, wherein the City agrees to indemnify the Metropolitan Council, which the City finds reasonable and necessary for this project; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the acceptance of the Metropolitan Council Active Transportation grant; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to enter into this agreement with the Metropolitan Council, a copy of which is before Council and is made a part hereof; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
