Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to execute a Lease Agreement with Mosaic on a Stick for the use of the Hamline Park Recreation Building at 1564 Lafond Avenue.

WHEREAS, on July 3, 2012 the City Council approved RES 12-1268 authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation ("Parks & Rec") to negotiate a Lease Agreement for the Hamline Park Recreation Building, 1564 Lafond Avenue ("Rec Building"), with the for-profit company Mosaic on a Stick (the "Business") following the issuance of requests for proposals to interested parties; and
WHEREAS, Parks & Rec, along with Finance/Real Estate and the City Attorney's Office, have negotiated a long-term Lease Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, with the Business for its use of the Rec Building for the creation, display, sale and instruction of mosaic artwork and supplies; and
WHEREAS, on February 20, 2013, the City Council approved a motion of intent (PH 13-7) for the application by Parks & Rec to rezone the park property on which the Rec Building is situated from R4 (One-family Residential) to T2 (Traditional Neighborhood) to permit the use of the Rec Building by the Business; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby authorize and direct the proper city officials to execute said Lease Agreement with the Business in a form and content substantially as set forth in Exhibit A.
