Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $70,000 in Commercial Vitality Zone (CVZ) funds and $5,000 non-CVZ funds allocated for the Hamm Park Improvements project. 

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, in accordance with the decision of the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development, made by authority granted under Resolution #15-1445, adopted on August 19, 2015, the Department of Parks and Recreation will administer the Commercial Vitality Zone (CVZ) Project entitled Hamm Park Improvements; and

 

WHEREAS, CVZ funds in the amount of $70,000 and non-CVZ funds in the amount of $5,000 have been allocated for the construction and engineering of this project; and

 

WHEREAS, previous community engagement focused on safety and accessibility, including improved sightlines, ADA access, seating, and directional signage; and

 

WHEREAS, capital improvements will enhance the safety, accessibility, and enjoyment of patrons using the park; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept the funds allocated and amend the financing and spending budget for the Hamm Park Improvements project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $75,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $75,000 is available for appropriation in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2018 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended.
