Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for grant funds of $40,000 from Midway Men’s Club.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation (Department) is requesting permission to apply for $40,000 in grant funds from the Midway Men’s Club to support youth activities, classes, events; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds, if awarded, will be used to create and support programs for neighborhood youth offered by the Department; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds, if awarded, will require a grant agreement with Midway Men’s Club; and
WHEREAS, there is no required match of these funds by the City; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that the expenditure of these funds to provide youth activities, events, classes, and also to provide the proper supplies for these activities, has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for grant funds of $40,000 from Midway Men’s Club.
