Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for all costs incurred for the department to host a firefighter cancer study meeting on October 17, 2018 at Saint Paul Fire Department headquarters.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department is holding a firefighter cancer study meeting on October 17, 2018 at the Saint Paul Fire Department headquarters; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the firefighter cancer study and the department would like to supply lunch for the participants of the meeting because it is held during the lunch hour; and
WHEREAS, the participants of this meeting will include Fire Department employees, Mayor Carter, Deputy Mayor Tincher, and the doctors involved with the study; and
WHEREAS, the expenditure of money for the lunch serves a public purpose by facilitating the discussion of the findings of the firefighter cancer study and improving the health and welfare of firefighters; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds not to exceed $200 to provide lunch for the firefighter cancer study meeting.
