Authorizing the City to enter into an Interconnection Agreement with Xcel Energy, which includes an indemnification clause, for solar at Frogtown Community Center.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan adopted in 2019 established the goal to achieve carbon neutrality in city operations, and the 2026 Climate Plan update includes a target for increasing onsite solar capacity at City buildings by 2030; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul was previously awarded a Solar on Public Buildings Grant from the Minnesota Department of Commerce (RES PH 25-294) to install a 40-kWac rooftop solar array at Frogtown Community Center during 2026; and
WHEREAS, the solar installation at Frogtown Community Center will require the City of Saint Paul to enter into a Minnesota Distributed Energy Resource Interconnection Agreement with Xcel Energy, which includes an indemnification clause in favor of Xcel; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the proper city officials to enter into the Interconnection Agreement with Xcel Energy, which includes an indemnification clause, for the rooftop solar array at Frogtown Community Center.
