Authorizing the Department of Public Works to accept the donation of $4,416 from the St. Paul Parks Conservancy to support a variety of projects and programs, including employee development initiatives, and to amend the 2026 Budget to support the appropriations.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a generous donation intended to support ongoing and high-level stewardship across departmental programs; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works wishes to accept said cash donation from the St. Paul Parks Conservancy to further strengthen stewardship efforts and enhance departmental capacity; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that strong stewardship includes not only project-based work but also investment in the professional development of Public Works employees; and
WHEREAS, these funds may be used to support a variety of projects and programs, including participation in the City’s Leadership Academy, tuition-reimbursement stipends for job-related coursework or certifications, and other employee development initiatives that advance the mission of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this cash donation serves a clear public purpose by supporting both operational stewardship and the growth and development of the City’s workforce; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $4,416 in excess of those estimated in the 2026 budget and recommends the changes to the 2026 budget described in the attached fiscal analysis; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the Department of Public Works to accept said donation from the St. Paul Parks Conservancy, amends the 2026 Budget to reflect the appropriate appropriations, and expresses its sincere appreciation for this generous contribution.
