Authorizing Public Works to request $828,344 in SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County to support the curbside recycling program and setting the 2026 City Recycling Service Fees. (Public hearing closed and laid over from November 12, 2025)

Body

WHEREAS, the request of the SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County and setting the recycling service fees for 2026 will allow the City to continue the residential recycling collection program and waste diversion activities through 2026; and

WHEREAS, to continue service in 2026 for weekly collection of recyclables, the City Recycling Service Fee in 2026 shall be set at $172.75 per unit in residential buildings with one to four units (SUD) including condominiums, and $87.69 per unit in residential buildings with five or more units (MUD), for support of collection programs; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to request, and if approved accept, SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County in the amount of $828,344 in 2026 for support of the Citywide recycling collection programs; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby adopt the 2026 City Recycling Service Fees as referenced above.
