Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for up to $1,900,000 from the Early Childhood Facilities Grant Program for the Conway Recreation Center project.

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (“DCYF”) is requesting proposals to predesign, design, construct or renovate facilities for early childhood learning programs to be funded by its Early Childhood Facilities Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, political subdivisions and state agencies are eligible for said DCYF grant; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to apply for up to $1,900,000 in grant funds from DCYF to support the expansion of the Conway Recreation Center site in partnership with the Sanneh Foundation; and
WHEREAS, there is a required one-to-one match for said funds which have been committed by the Sanneh Foundation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families Early Childhood Facilities grant.
