Title

Modifying Residential Permit Parking Area 23 boundaries to include Princeton Avenue between Woodlawn Avenue and Mount Curve Boulevard and the east side of Mount Curve Boulevard between Princeton Avenue and Fairmount Avenue.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Council File 86-1124, residential permit parking was previously instituted on behalf of the residents residing in the University of St. Thomas College area in accordance with Chapter 164 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code; and

WHEREAS, Resolution Number 18-172 established the types, limits, and fees for permits in all residential permit parking areas; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul previously found that the aforementioned residential area did not have sufficient off-street parking to accommodate the residential parking needs of the residents as well as the parking needs of non-residents who use non-residential facilities in the area which lack sufficient off-street parking; and

 

WHEREAS, affected residents have subsequently submitted petitions requesting that certain permit parking restrictions be installed on these blocks; and

 

WHEREAS, Public Works staff has investigated the basis for the petition and concluded and recommended adoption of the changes requested in the petition.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following parking regulations shall be established in the residential area near the University of St. Thomas as follows:

Establish No Parking 8AM-8PM Monday-Friday Except by Permit, Area 23 parking regulation on the following blocks:

 

                     Both sides of Princeton Avenue from Woodlawn Avenue to Mount Curve Boulevard
                     East side of Mount Curve Boulevard from Princeton Avenue to Fairmount Avenue

 

AND, BE IT RESOLVED, that the effective date of these parking regulations shall be in effect and be enforced thirty (30) days after City Council approval.
