WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, together with its City Clerk, has duly canvassed the returns and votes at the City General Election held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and
WHEREAS, it appears from said returns and the canvass thereof that the following number of votes were cast for the following offices:

WHEREAS, it appears from said returns and the canvass thereof that the following named persons received more votes than any other candidate for election:
WARD 1 - Anika Bowie
WARD 2 - Rebecca Noecker
WARD 3 - Saura Jost
WARD 4 - Mitra Jalali
WARD 5 - Hwa Jeong Kim
WARD 6 - Nelsie Yang
WARD 7 - Cheniqua Johnson
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, together with its City Clerk, has duly canvassed the returns and votes at the City General Election held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, to determine whether to ratify (yes) or reject (no) a new sales tax; and
WHEREAS, it appears from said returns and canvass thereof that a majority of those voting on the sales tax voted in its favor, 28913 electors voted in favor of the ordinance and 19,124 voted against the sales tax; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that each of the aforesaid persons are hereby declared elected to the respective offices and the Ramsey County Office of Elections is instructed and directed to notify them of their election and to issue and deliver to them the proper certificates of election.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that based on the results of the referendum, the sales tax is approved.
