Approving the use of grant funds through the Ward 1 and city-wide Neighborhood Star Year-Round program for Sssdude-Nutz dba The Donut Trap.

 

Body

WHEREAS, on November 15, 2024, the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed one (1) proposal for STAR grant financing through the Ward 1 and City-Wide Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program from Sssdude-Nutz dba The Donut Trap for a hood system project; and

WHEREAS, the Neighborhood STAR Board rates grant requests on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high) with The Donut Trap’s proposal for a hood system receiving a final score of 5; and

WHEREAS, due to the community significance of the The Donut Trap, a waiver to City Council approved Neighborhood STAR Guidelines is being recommended to allow for reimbursements for expenses back to October 1, 2024 and to eliminate the required application fee; and

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to participate in the financing of these activities by providing grant financing up to $22,000 to The Donut Trap’s proposal for a hood system, now be it

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the Mayor that funds are available for appropriation, that the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round award described above and corresponding waivers are hereby approved; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution, including finalizing all documents and agreements, subject to approval by the City Attorney’s Office; and be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City official(s) are hereby approved and authorized to execute any and all documents in connection with this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney’s Office; and be it

 

FINALLY RESOLVED, that this Resolution does not constitute a binding legal agreement; rather, the action taken herein shall not be effective until said documents are executed by the appropriate official(s) of the City.
