Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): PO attempted payment on January 16 for the amount of $63.18 using the bank's bill pay system and it the payment was not processed.
Staff Comments: WM states there was no attempt made, but the bank was able to provide proof payment was sent and the check was never cashed. PO was credited back the original check amount of $63.15 from the bank on May 15. WM agreed to remove late fees off the Saint. Paul invoice so resident would now owe $63.18. Staff recommends reducing assessment amount by $9.48.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with the Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during January to March 2025. (File No.CG2503A1, Assessment No.250116) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and
WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby ratified and payable in one installment, noting assessment has already been paid.
