Authorizing the City on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Department to accept a donation in the amount of $40,000 from the Midway Men's Club to support Recreation Services programming.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department, through its recreation centers and program,s offers many events, classes and activities for youth and families in the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the Midway Men's Club is a fundraising group which has supported youth activities through monetary donations in the Midway area since 1960; and
WHEREAS, the Midway Men's Club wishes to donate $40,000 for use in 2024 to enhance youth programming within the City of Saint Paul at the following Recreation Centers and Recreation programs:

WHEREAS, the money will be used to create and support programs for neighborhood youth offered by the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department at the above listed Recreation Centers and programs; and
WHEREAS, the City on Behalf of the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department would like to accept the cash donation in the amount of $40,000 from the Midway Men’s Club to support youth activities and programming at the above Saint Paul Recreation Centers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that accepting this cash donation has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department to accept $40,000 in funds from the Midway Men’s Club to support Recreation Services programming, and thanks them for their generous donation.
