Accepting grant funds in the amount of $180,000 from the Capitol Region Watershed District, and amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $180,000 to reflect funds received for the Midway Peace Park project.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is committed to a sustainable future, including cleaner air, soil, water and other natural resources; and
WHEREAS, the City supports, and will continue to support, collaboration with the Capital Region Watershed District and other agencies and groups to provide resources for increasing water quality, and for providing a cleaner environment throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation applied for and received grant funding eligible to projects that exceed base stormwater permitting requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will use these funds to build rain gardens, additional stormwater infrastructure, a stormwater demonstration channel with bridges, and educational signage at Midway Peace Park; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded grant funds for the Midway Peace Park project; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said funding and amend the financing and spending budget in the amount of $180,000 for the Midway Peace Park project; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $180,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Committee, that $180,000 is available for appropriation in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by Council, are hereby further amended as outlined in the attached Financial Analysis.
