Authorizing the acceptance of $50,000 in total grant funding from the Rocky Mountain Institute, which requires no match, for purchase of 2 curbside EV chargers and the associated site work required; and authorizing the execution of a grant agreement; and amending the financing and spending in the Public Works grant budget in the amount of $50,000.

WHEREAS, in its efforts to expand charging opportunities in the City of Saint Paul, and utilize infrastructure already in place as part of the Heights Development site; and
WHEREAS, the City applied for and received a grant in the amount of $50,000 for the purchase and installation of curbside chargers from the Rocky Mountain Institute through the EV Acceleration Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the submission of the grant application in RES 26-968; and
WHEREAS, funds will support the site work required to surface conduit laid at the south side of the Heights Development, as well as the purchase and installation of those chargers (2 Level 2 Dual Port EV Chargers); and
WHEREAS, the project will provide public charging availability, and the future to support electric carshare at the Heights Development; and
WHEREAS, the project fits within the City’s stated resilience and climate action goals; and
WHEREAS, there is no match requirement for the funds; and
WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the Council authorizes the acceptance and spending of Curbside Charging Sub-Grant (GM-CFT FY26) from the Rocky Mountain Institute, amends the 2026 budget, and authorizes execution of a grant agreement with the Rocky Mountain Institute; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $50,000 in the Public Works Grant Fund 20031309; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $50,000 is available for appropriation in the Public Works Grant Fund, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
