Amending the financing and spending of the capital budget for the Department of Public Works in the amount of $553,969 in additional revenues and $78,000 transfer of appropriations.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received federal funding for the 2018 Safe Routes to School Expo Project to fill in missing sidewalks around Expo Elementary, Cretin Derham Hall, the Holy Spirit School and Randolph Heights Elementary. The local match will be funded from the Bike, Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Program; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to add $479,539 of federal funding into the 2018 Bike, Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Program for the Safe Routes to School Project; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works plans to complete bumpouts at Case and Desoto and complete improvements at Como/Front/Dale as part of the 2018 Wheelock Parkway - Danforth to Western Project; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to transfer $78,000 from the 2016 Safe Routes to School Program to the 2018 Wheelock Parkway Project to fund the bumpouts at Case and Desoto; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to add $74,430 of Commercial Vitality Zone funding to the 2018 Wheelock Parkway Project to fund improvements at Como/Front/Dale as per the agreement between the Department of Public Works and the Department of Planning and Economic Development; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there is available for appropriation funds of $553,969; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.4 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there is available for transfer of appropriation funds of $78,000; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $553,969 is available for appropriation and that $78,000 is available for transfer of appropriation in the Capital Improvement Budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the Improvements Budgets in the following particulars:
