Pertaining to an Amendment No. 4 to Agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s elevated water towers.
Body
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul (the “Board”) desires to obtain professional engineering services for the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #2 elevated water tower; and
WHEREAS, at its February 8, 2022 meeting, the Board approved Contract No. 3407 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Ferndale Street elevated water tower, which Agreement provided for the same scope of work to be provided for Highland #2 and Highland #3 upon mutual agreement; and
WHEREAS, at its July 11, 2023 meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 3407 with SEH to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #3 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed of $84,200; and
WHEREAS, at its December 12, 2023, meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 2 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #2 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed $96,700 and a Highland #3 rate adjustment cost not to exceed $2,838; and
WHEREAS, at its July 9, 2024, meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 3 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional structural engineering services, including design, inspection, and contract administration services for the steel rafters of the Highland #2 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed $29,500; and
WHEREAS, during the design phase of Highland #3 it was decided to modify the scope from an exterior overcoat to full rehabilitation of the exterior. This was done to reduce the lifetime cost of the tank. Full rehabilitation will add three weeks to the project. As such, SEH and Board staff wish to amend the Agreement to add additional contract administration and construction inspection time to the Highland #3 scope of services at a cost not to exceed $25,150; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul hereby requests that City of Saint Paul Contracts and Analysis Services draft an Amendment No. 4 to the Agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. dated February 9, 2022 known as Contract No. 3407 to provide professional engineering services, including design, inspection, and contract administration services for the full exterior rehabilitation of the Highland #3 elevated water tower, at a cost not to exceed $25,150, and to include all other terms and conditions as may be required; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers of the Board are hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement following approval by the assistant city attorney.
