Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation Grant Fund, in the amount of $35,000, to reflect grant funds received from the Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB) to support the St. Paul Get Down program (and authorization to enter into a grant agreement detailing the requirements of said grant, which include an indemnification clause).

Body

 

WHEREAS, by Res #25-741, the Department of Parks and Recreation applied for and has received $35,000 from the MSAB FY26 Art Experience grant; and

 

WHEREAS, grant funds will allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide support for the St. Paul Get Down program; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no match amount required for said funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the MSAB FY26 Art Experience grant funds require that the Department of Parks and Recreation enter into a grant agreement, which includes an indemnification clause; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that funds to provide quality music arts programming for Saint Paul youth has a public purpose; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said grant and utilize the funding through the spending plan that has been developed; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the Grant Fund budget to reflect this additional funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $35,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2026 Grant Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes acceptance of said funds and approves amendment to the Life-to-Date Grant Budget; and be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to execute the necessary grant agreement with MSAB to accept and utilize these funds, which includes an indemnification clause.
