Mr. Hudson was never informed that property was a VB and slowly moved in completing his move in September. Electrical contractor went to pull a permit late last week and Mr. Hudson was informed property was vacant. Verifying with Inspector Hesse that property is occupied. RH

10/15/2024: Due to unique timing of situation and fact PO moved in with no way of knowing property had been a declared vacant building, per Deputy Director Hoban close VB file. RH

10/15/2024: Close-In Compliance - Property was occupied upon inspection. Closing file per RH due to process issue PO was unaware of the property's VB status. WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Assessment Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Vacant Building Registration fees billed during July 25, 2023 to June 19, 2024. (File No. VB2504, Assessment No. 258803) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby deleted.
