Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the following organizations to act as participating sites for the period of the 2013-2014 VISTA program year.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) for the period of the 2013-2014 VISTA program year, pursuant to which it will act as a Sponsor organization; and
WHEREAS,
-American Oromo Community of Minnesota ($3,400 cost-share),
-Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities ($11,796 cost-share),
-Breakthrough Saint Paul ($3,400 cost-share),
-CLUES ($3,400 cost-share)
-EMS Academy ($3,400 cost-share),
-Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center ($3,400 cost-share),
-Genesys Works ($3,400 cost-share),
-Higher Ground Academy ($3,400 cost-share),
-Jackson Elementary ($3,400 cost-share),
-Maxfield Elementary ($11,796 cost-share),
-Minnesota Council of Nonprofits ($3,400 cost-share),
-Minnesota Urban Debate League ($3,400 cost-share),
-Rock Star Supply Company ($11,796 cost-share),
-Science Museum of Minnesota ($11,796 cost-share),
-Saint Paul Public Schools, Adult Basic Education - Hubbs Center ($3,400 cost-share),
-Saint Paul Public Schools, Office of Family Engagement and Community Partnerships (3 VISTAs / $10,200 cost-share),
-Sprockets / Saint Paul Public Libraries ($3,400 cost-share),
-Urban Boatbuilders ($3,400 cost-share),
-Urban Roots ($11,796 cost-share),
-Saint Paul Mayor's Office / VISTA Leader (no cost-share / program sponsor),
will be Participating Sites with a VISTA member placed at each Site, and each Participating Site will contribute cost-share funding for the position (as indicated); and
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the process and obtain funds from the Participating Sites the City needs to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with each Participating Site; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul supports Saint Paul VISTA Program involvement and authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached Memorandum of Understanding with each the above sites.
