Title

Authorizing the Fire Department to enter into an agreement with FM Global Emergency Response Consultants and accepting their donation of travel expenses to send two Fire Department personnel to training in Rome, Georgia.

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department wishes to participate in FM Global Emergency Response Consultants’ Fire Service Training program in Rome, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the training will be provided at no cost to the SPFD and FM Global has offered to pay for all travel expenses for two fire department personnel to attend; and

WHEREAS, the SPFD will be required to enter into an agreement with FM Global indemnifying and holding them harmless; and

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that the attendance at the emergency response training has a public purpose in providing essential skills for the firefighters’ jobs, and that the indemnification furthers that goal; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council authorizes the SPFD to enter into the attached agreement with FM Global Emergency Response Consultants, which contains and indemnification clause; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of all travel expenses to send two SPFD personnel to the training and thanks FM Global Emergency Response Consultants for its generous gift.
