Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $161,239 to accept the 2017 Assistance to Firefighter Grant - Fire Prevention to purchase supplies and services for the Project Safe Haven program.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $161,239 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program - Fire Prevention which has a federal share of $161,239 and a 5% matching fund contribution of $8,061 to purchase supplies and services for the Project Safe Haven program; and

 

WHEREAS, federal law requires a 5% matching fund contribution and the Saint Paul Fire Department match of $8,061 will be paid from 10022300-72255-2210022000-72255; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for this grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $161,239 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the grant and approves the changes to the 2018 budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
