Authorizing the City to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement, on behalf of Police Department, with the State of Minnesota, on behalf of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Minnesota Human Trafficking Investigators Task Force (MNHITF).
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of Public Safety on behalf of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA); and
WHEREAS, the SPPD and BCA wishes to work together to investigate and prosecute human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children and, along with other agencies, have formed the Minnesota Human Trafficking Investigators Task Force (MNHITF) to coordinate their efforts, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into and Assistant Chief Jack Serier to implement the Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota.
