I hope that the St. Paul City Council, with the support of city staff, will follow the lead of the Planning and 
Zoning Commissions and allow the Stone Saloon to have it's historic use variance.
 
I have visited the site and the neighborhood on several occasions and believe that this business can fit 
into the area with limited impact.  I have known Tom Schroeder for some time and believe that as a 
resident of the neighborhood himself, will operate a business to the benefit of all.
I also feel that it is very important to preserve the history of all neighborhoods and always to restore and 
repair, rather than tear down.  This restored venue should be a welcome addition to the neighborhood, be 
a glimpse back into our history and past, and be something that all of St. Paul can take pride in.
