Deny the appeal
Lynne Ferkinhoff, DSI-Rent Stabilization, appeared.
Demetrius Sass, DSI- Rent stabilization, appeared.
No appellant appeared
Legislative Hearing Officer, Marcia Moermond noted that she reviewed the Staff Report
which is attached to the record and took it into consideration. Moermond confirmed
with Staff that the report indicates and rent increase was determined acceptable.
Sass: noted there is no additional information to add.
Moermond: noted that there were some communication issues with appellant -which
are noted in record. The office received a request to change the date from the landlord
and if there was consensus with the appellant, she would approve a date change. The
response received from the appellant seemed to be a response to a previous email,
the hearing was not rescheduled. The appellant did not appear. Both the appellant and
landlord will be able to attend the public hearing to testify before the City Council on
August 19.
Ms. Moermond's recommendation is that City Council deny the appeal.
