The nuisance is abated and matter resolved.
Moermond: we have a Summary Abatement Order that was issued November 19th to
clean up trash in the rear yard. This was as follow up to a September 23rd Legislative
Hearing where we wanted the garbage issued in its own order so it could be cleaned up
if she didn’t do. It was reinspected today and the nuisance has been abated.

Updated Staff report by Supervisor Keith Demarest: we had contact at this property
starting in October. This is a single-family home that does have a fire Certificate of
Occupancy. We responded to several referrals to this property. October 30th 2925 a
referral was sent about an extension cord was being run across the street of Magnolia
from 1035 to 1032 Magnolia. Another complaint November 10th stating multiple power
cords running from 1032 across the street to 1035 Magnolia. November 13 a referral
was sent stating a generator was being used to power home in lieu of electricity.
November 18th a referral was sent again stating a generator was being used to power
the house.
November 20th Inspector Daryl Chute did an inspection of the property. Those orders
are attached to the appeal. During that inspection done he noted the property be
condemned due to no electrical service, no heat, and no smoke alarms present. All
utilities had been shut off to the property including water, electricity and gas.
Moermond: I have photos from the St. Paul Fire Department. It looks like a substantial
fire. Fires mean they automatically go to the Vacant Building program.
Supervisor Matt Dornfeld: we do have a Vacant Building form that has a registration
that has a box you can check and request the 90 day fee waiver due to the fire. Fire
Exempt. Turn it in and get approved for that waiver.
Ng: the fire happened the 27th and I informed my insurance and they inspected
yesterday. I haven’t received anything yet. I haven’t heard whether it can be repaired or
whatnot. I guess I need to do that Vacant Building form to get that waiver. Where do I
get this form?
Dornfeld: that would have been sent even before the fire, it was sent when it became a
Vacant Building early December.
Moermond: so you would have received one already but we can email you a new one. I
don’t recall seeing that.
