Carmen Guy, owner, appeared via phone
[Moermond gives background of appeals process]
Staff report by Clare Pillsbury: the former property owner stated they spoke with Waste
Management who said the former owner had a temporary service hold at this time. We
reached out to hauler and they show no records of temporary service hold on or before
					Quarter 1, 2022.
Guy: we sold the property and closed March 7. I have worked in customer service for
years and I know they keep a record and I don’t know why they can’t find it. I called it
and my wife was listening to the call and as of December 15 we were leaving the state
and there would be no garbage. The house was vacant. I wanted to cancel, I was told I
couldn’t do that but I could put a service hold on it. I don’t know why they didn’t do that.
It is frustrating. WE left town and moved to Florida December 15. This started January
1 and we weren’t around and we hadn’t removed the hold. WE told them the new owners
were taking over the garbage. The third part of the bill is after we closed, so that’s why
we shouldn’t be responsible for that part. Both my wife and I have an 800+ credit score
and we pay our bills, I don’t know if that matters. No stops made or garbage were
					picked up.
Moermond: if there is a service hold they shouldn’t be billing for that time period. If you
transacted the property March 7, what would the new owner’s portion of the bill be. It
would be about $20 that is their responsibility. I’m going to recommend this is
decreased to reflect a service hold during your ownership. So down to $20.
					Guy: ok.
Moermond: I’m sorry you had this trouble with them.
					Guy: thank you.
