Accepting the gift of all travel costs from PolicyLink for Deputy Mayor Paul Williams to attend the Policy Link Equity Summit 2011 in Detroit, Michigan, November 8-11, 2011.

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Deputy Mayor Paul Williams has been invited to be a guest speaker on a panel at the Policy Link Equity Summit 2011, taking place from November 8 - November 11, 2011, in Detroit, Michigan; and
WHEREAS, PolicyLink has offered to pay the speakers' for travel and hotel expenses, and to waive their conference registration fee; and
WHEREAS, the conference, titled "2011 Healthy Communities, Strong Regions, A Prosperous America" will offer an opportunity for the Deputy Mayor to interact with other presenters and attendees to discuss strategies for creating strong, healthy communities and regions; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that attendance by the Deputy Mayor and speaking as a panelist will benefit the City and that acceptance of the offer of travel expenses will facilitate this opportunity; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of travel costs for Deputy Mayor Paul Williams to attend and speak at the Policy Link Equity Summit 2011 to take place in Detroit, Michigan from November 8-November 11, 2011, appropriates the money for that purpose and thanks PolicyLink for its generous gift.
