Title

Accepting the donation of the use of space at Amsterdam Bar and Hall as well as food donation, at a combined total value of $700, for the Mayor's 2012 budget speech.

Body

WHEREAS, pursuant to law the Mayor shall submit recommended budgets to the City Council not later than thirty (30) days before the date requiring adoption of the proposed maximum tax levy in accordance with state law; and

WHEREAS, on August 15, 2011, Mayor Chris Coleman shall submit the 2012 recommended budget for the City and shall deliver a public speech discussing it; and

WHEREAS, Amsterdam LLC doing business as Amsterdam Bar and Hall located at 6 West 6^th Street in Saint Paul, has offered to host the Mayor's 2012 budget speech as a gift to the City; and

WHEREAS,  use of the space for the speech will encourage public participation in the budget process and offer an opportunity for citizens to learn more about the proposed budget for City; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of the use of space at 6 West 6^th Street valued at $500 and the donation  of food valued at $200 for the purpose of hosting the Mayor's 2012 budget address to the City Council, appropriates it for the intended use and thanks Amsterdam Bar and Hall for its generous gift.
