Title
Accepting Tax Base Revitalization Grants from the Metropolitan Council, and Contamination Cleanup Grants from the Department of Employment and Economic Development, and amending the 2011 budget.
Body
WHEREAS, the City Council on April 27, 2011, by Resolution number 11-786 authorized the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council for Tax Base Revitalization grants and to apply to the Department of Employment and Economic Development for Contamination Cleanup grants; and
 
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved Tax Base Revitalization grants of $46,500 for the East 7th and Reaney Investigation, $540,500 for the Pioneer Endicott Building Phase II Cleanup, $55,500 for the PPL West 7th Housing Cleanup, and $343,200 for the Schmidt Brewery Phase II Cleanup; and
 
WHEREAS, the Department of Employment and Economic Development approved Contamination Investigation and Cleanup grants of $150,375 for the Nova Classical Academy cleanup and $206,440 for the Project for Pride in Living, W.7th St. cleanup; and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $1,342,515 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2011 budget and recommends the changes to the 2011 budget identified on Attachment A:
 
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul accepts these grants and approves the changes identified on Attachment A to the 2011 budget.
