Authorizing the City on behalf of the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department, to apply for grant funds of $100,000 from Minnesota Twins and, if awarded, accept, and enter into a grant agreement.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department is requesting permission to apply for, and accept, $100,000 in grant funds from the Minnesota Twins to support youth baseball and softball; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds, if awarded, will provide equipment and league fees for those interested in playing baseball and softball; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds, if awarded, will require a grant agreement with the Minnesota Twins; and
WHEREAS, there is no required match of these funds by the City; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that the expenditure of these funds to provide baseball and softball free for all those in the baseball and softball programs 8U and up, also to provide the proper equipment to play; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department to apply for, and if awarded, enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Twins to accept these funds.
