Authorizing the City to accept a donation of a Weber Genesis gas grill from the St. Paul Police K9 Foundation on behalf of the Police Department (SPPD) for food preparation.

Body

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code Section (“SPAC”) §41.03 allows the City to accept any form of donation subject to the following: (a) All donations of any type in any amount of value shall be received and processed in accordance with proper and accepted accounting practices. (b) All donations shall be received and accepted by city council actions according to SPAC §41.03 and according to reporting procedures established by administration and approval by the city council. (c) All donations shall be made public and subject to periodic audit; and

WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. §465.03 authorizes the City to accept gifts and donations of personal property; and

WHEREAS, the City on behalf of the SPPD would like to accept the One (1) Weber Genesis gas grill which the St. Paul Police K9 Foundation paid $1,099.90 for at the Warner’s Stellian store in Roseville. The grill is used to cook food for SPPD Canine Officers and for the K9 academy as there is not a kitchen or stove at the SPPD Canine office / kennel; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the grill used to cook food for SPPD Canine Officers and for the K9 academy has a public purpose in accordance with Minnesota §465.03; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul herby authorizes the Saint Paul Police Department to accept One (1) Weber Genesis gas grill valued at $1,099.90, and thanks them for their generous donation.
