Accepting the gift of the costs of travel, transportation, and lodging from Project Equity for the Mayor to attend the Project Equity Employee Ownership Equity Summit in Oakland, California from February 7 to 8, 2023.

WHEREAS, Project Equity is a non-profit organization that provides support to employee-owned companies that have transitioned to employee ownership; and
WHEREAS, Project Equity is hosting a convening of subject-matter experts, scholars, community organizations and city officials from municipalities across the nation as part of the Project Equity Employee Ownership Equity Summit; and
WHEREAS, Project Equity has invited the Mayor to serve as a panelist to discuss economic growth, community and business development within the City of Saint Paul at the Employee Ownership Equity Summit; and
WHEREAS, Project Equity has offered to pay travel, transportation, and lodging expenses for the Mayor to serve as a panelist at the Employee Ownership Equity Summit convening; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds the Mayor serving as a panelist at the Employee Ownership Equity Summit will be beneficial to the City in providing a deeper understanding of approaches to economic equity and community partnerships; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the gift of up to $1,500 toward the cost of travel, transportation, and lodging expenses for Mayor Carter to attend the Employee Ownership Equity Summit in Oakland, California from February 7 to 8, 2023, and thanks Project Equity for its generous gift.
