Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, to accept funding from the Zoological Registrars Association to be used for registration costs for Senior Zookeeper to attend Institutional Records Keeping in Wheeling, WV 13-19 February 2023.
Body
WHEREAS, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory is an active participant in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums; and
WHEREAS, the Zoological Registrars Association (ZRA) has awarded a scholarship to the Senior Keeper to attend the Institutional Records Keeping Course through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 2023; and
WHEREAS, ZRA is prepared to pay for registration for staff to attend the course at a cost of $1125; and
WHEREAS, participation in the Course will be a valuable opportunity for staff to further their knowledge of records keeping practices and standards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose for the expenditure of the registration expenses in ensuring that Como Zoo continues to be current in their staff knowledge of AZA records and standards; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts the funding for the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Zoo staff to attend the Institutional Records Keeping Course in 2023.
