Authorizing the Police Department to add fund equity to its 2022 Special Fund operating budget to reflect expenditures more accurately.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) has a balance in Use of Fund Equity from 2021 on the City's balance sheet; and
WHEREAS, the sworn staff of the Saint Paul Police Department has an annual $994.94 uniform allowance, unused amounts are carried forward each year, and due to the uniform change this year the sworn staff are using up the unspent portion of their allowance; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $75,000.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2022 budget and recommends the following changes; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $75,000 is available for appropriation in the Police Department Special Fund budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
