Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Anna Victoria Miranda to the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission.

WHEREAS, the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) Commission is responsible for monitoring and advising the department on promoting justice and equity and fosters hiring policies that maximize the diversity of the workforce of the city; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.19 (1) states that the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission consists of twenty-one (21) members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Anna Victoria Miranda is a participant in the Youth on Boards program, has applied to serve on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission and is recommended for this appointment by staff; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Melvin Carter wishes to appoint Anna Victoria to the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission for a two-year term ending on October 31, 2024; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of Anna Victoria Miranda to the Human Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a two-year term ending on October 31, 2024.
