Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for a Creative Support for Organizations grant, of up to $30,000, from the Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB) to support the Dayton’s Bluff Project: Celebrating Community Through Art.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs significant services for residents of the Metropolitan area and all Minnesota residents through its ownership and operation of its parks and trails; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to apply for up to $30,000 in grant funds from the MSAB’s Creative Support for Organizations grant to support the the MSAB’s Creative Support for Organizations grant; and
WHEREAS, grant funds would allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide quality, performance and visual art instruction to Saint Paul youth, specifically youth from the Dayton’s Bluff community; and
WHEREAS, there is no match amount required of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies of the grant; so, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for the MSAB’s Creative Support for Organizations grant for the MSAB’s Creative Support for Organizations grant.
