Amending the 2022 Financing and Spending Plans in the Library Agency for the American Libraries Association/National Endowment for the Humanities grant. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library received a grant from the American Libraries Association in the amount of $10,000; and

 

WHEREAS, the intent of the grant is to provide opportunities for local communities to celebrate Black/African-American contributions to science, literature, and everyday life; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant will provide the funding for SPPL staff time, up to $8000, required to manage this project and work in partnership with the Network for the Development of Children of African Descent (NdCAD) to work one-on-one and in groups with community members to identify opportunities to learn about African-American contributions to science, literature, and everyday life; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant will provide funding up to $2000 for SPPL to create public programs, displays, and add materials to collections; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.7.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $10,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2022 budget and recommends the changes to the 2022 budget described in the attached fiscal analysis; Now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Library Board approves the changes to the 2022 Saint Paul Public Library Agency Budget.
