Authorizing the Police Department to amend the budget and accept a gift from the Saint Paul Police Foundation for ballistic protection plates for SPPD officers.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation has donated $43,432 for ballistic protection plates; and
WHEREAS, SPPD would like to accept this generous donation from the Saint Paul Police Foundation for which the public purpose is the purchase of ballistic protection plates for our officers; and
WHEREAS, the 2021 special fund budget and activity budget need to be amended for this donation from the Saint Paul Police Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $43,432 in the Special Fund; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation; and
THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $43,432 is available for appropriation in the Police Department Special Fund, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
