Authorizing the Department of Planning and Economic Development to execute grant agreements with the Metropolitan Council, which includes an indemnification clause, accept grant funds, and amend the related City budgets.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Planning and Economic Development applied for and has received grant funding from the Metropolitan Council’s Livable Communities Demonstration Account Transit Oriented Pre-Development and Livable Communities Demonstration Account Pre-Development programs as reflected in RES 21-1010;
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved the following grant applications:
1. Livable Communities Demonstration Account Transit Oriented Pre-Development grant of $75,000.00 for 892 East 7th Street
2. Livable Communities Demonstration Account Transit-Oriented Pre-Development grant of $56,500.00 for 652-658 Sherburne Avenue West
3. Livable Communities Demonstration Account Pre-Development grant of $75,750.00 for 1490 7th Street East
WHEREAS, the grant agreements require the City to defend and indemnify the Metropolitan Council as a condition of receiving the grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in acceptance of the grant funds; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Charter Section 10.07.1, the Mayor certifies that upon acceptance of the grant funds there is available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget and recommends amendment to the same consistent with the financial analysis attached to the Resolution. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the proper City officials to execute agreements with the Metropolitan Council which include an indemnification clause, to accept and implement said grant funds, and authorizes amendment to the related City budgets in the particulates as specified in the attached financial analysis.
