Authorizing execution of a lease between the HRA and Qwest Corporation for telecommunications equipment at the 7A Parking Ramp, West Exchange, District 17, Ward 2
Body
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul (the “HRA” or “Lessor”) owns the 7A Parking Ramp, located at 13 West Exchange, Saint Paul, Minnesota (“7A Ramp”); and
WHEREAS, the HRA and Qwest (“Tenant”) entered into a lease agreement for Tenant’s telecommunications equipment at the 7A Ramp; and the term of the lease agreement expired on March 31, 2020 and has remained in effect as a month-to-month tenancy thereafter; and
WHEREAS, the HRA and Tenant seek to enter into a new lease agreement on substantially the same terms as the previous lease agreement to extend the lease for two (2) five (5) year terms: April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2024 and, then, April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2028, with annual rent in the amount of $2,000 per year and $2,250 per year, respectively; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the HRA, pursuant to HRA Bylaws, Article II, Section 6(B), hereby authorizes the proper HRA officials to executive the by the proposed lease with Qwest Corporation for telecommunications equipment at the 7A Ramp consistent with this Resolution.
