Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Thomas McCarthy to a three-year term on the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 61.203 states that the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) consists of nine (9) members (seven (7) regular members and two (2) alternate members) appointed by the mayor with the consent of the council; and
WHEREAS The Board of Zoning Appeals holds public hearings on administrative appeals and for minor and major zoning variances, and
WHEREAS, the council previously approved an appointment by Mayor Carter to the Board of Zoning Appeals (RES 20-1022) , and
WHEREAS, Glen Brown Lowe’s appointment has ended in accordance with Appendix Chapter A-14 of the Administrative Code, and
WHEREAS, Thomas McCarthy applied to serve on the Board of Zoning Appeals; and
WHEREAS Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Thomas McCarthy to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a term ending on July 1, 2023, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council consents to the appointment of Thomas McCarthy to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a term ending on July 1, 2023, as a Commissioner on the Board of Zoning Appeals.
